The Justice League Snyder Cut Petition Has Raised A Ton Of Money To Fly A Banner Over Comic-Con

With the successful releases of Aquaman and Shazam!, the DCEU has risen from the ashes of disappointment left by Justice League. And some fans feel the big superhero team-up film failed because Zack Snyder left the project during production due to a personal tragedy and wasnt able to fulfill his vision as Joss Whedon took over.

A passionate following have been demanding the release of the Snyder Cut for over a year and have now raised over $20,000 to have a massive presence at this years San Diego Comic-Con in just a month.

A Go Fund Me page from the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement has rallied the money from fans to create a massive advertising assault to fellow fans and Warner Brothers over their unyielding desire for the release of the full and complete Zack Synder Cut of Justice League. The campaign looks like it will have a prominent presence at this years Comic-Con with the movements plans.

At first, the fans raised over $2000 in one day to the fund for an airborne banner with the words WB #ReleaseTheSnyderCut OF JUSTICE LEAGUE to fly over Comic-Con for the two hours Warner Bros. would present at Hall H during the convention. However, it was recently announced that the studio will not present at the convention with the release of the new Wonder Woman 1984 poster.

The crowdfund campaign then also raised money for a billboard in San Diego near the convention to hang during the convention within a few weeks. Funds were also raised to secure a half-page color advertisement in Hollywood Reporters Comic-Con special issue and along an entire bus stop in the city.

With each level of the Snyder Cut campaign, supporters have also asked for double the price of these advertisement fees to donate to the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention. So at the current numbers, about $10,000 is going to the movements Comic-Con presence, and the other half to AFSPs cause. If Warner Bros. makes an announcement to release it before Comic-Con, they say they will defer all the funds raised to AFSP.

During the convention, there will also apparently be boots on the ground at and around the convention center donning signs and handing out educational flyers about the Synder Cut. These die hards had previously raised funds for a banner with the #ReleaseTheSynderCut hashtag to be flown over Warner Bros studios, which Snyder apparently took notice of.

One question worth asking is does this Snyder Cut actually exist? He has been vocal about his plans for the franchise before the DCEU changed up, but is there actually an assembly the studio is just holding from release? If there isnt, these fans may be picketing for a long-lost vision.

Jason Momoa has spoken out about the Snyder Cut in the past, talking about how much he wants to see it as well. Will these cries from fans lead to the release of the Snyder Cut and will Warner Bros lack of presence at this years Comic-Con impact their plans? Well have to wait and see.

Why Patton Oswalt Was The Perfect Replacement For Louis C.K., According To Secret Life Of Pets 2 Director

Secret Life of Pets Max now has something in common with Ratatouilles Remy: both were voiced by the incomparable Patton Oswalt. The actor replaced Louis C.K. in the sequel to the highly-successful 2016 film that takes audiences into the double lives of our furry friends.

When Chris Renaud, the director of the animated franchise, was tasked with finding a new actor to take on the role of the friendly Terrier in The Secret Life of Pets 2, he thankfully found a perfect fit in Patton Oswalt. In his words:

When we were recasting Max, we wanted to stay true to the character that we had established, but obviously give it some new distinction with a new actor. And Patton easily inhabited the neurotic, hypersensitive Max that wed established in the first movie, also with a bit of an acerbic to balance that out, particularly when hes talking to Snowball. It was just about trying to find something that stayed true to the character that wed established, but also giving it some distinction within that, and Patton just made it his own, instantly.

Recasting a role can be ruff stuff, but Patton Oswalt made the transition a smooth one for Secret Life of Pets 2, per the directors words to Collider. The actor was a great choice to step into the paws of Max and continue his story in one of Illumination and Universals biggest hits.

A couple years ago, the studios cut ties with Louis C.K. in light of the sexual harassment allegations against him. Five women spoke out about the comedian exposing himself and masturbating in front of them. Louis C.K. later confessed to committing these acts, leading to many of his connections with Hollywood being dropped, such as the home network to his five-season series Louis, FX, and his movie I Love You, Daddy.

While the actor took some time away from the public eye, recent events have kept him in the spotlight. A leaked standup set back in December contained many offensive jokes targeting transgender people and school shootings. SNLs Pete Davidson also recently opened up about a time when Louis C.K. tried to get him fired from the sketch show because of his marijuana use.

Hes certainly become a voice many parents wouldnt want associated with lovable characters in The Secret Life of Pets. When news broke of Louis C.Ks firing, it was unclear what the fate of Max would be, but the sequel found a great alternative to getting rid of the central character.

Secret Life of Pets 2 follows Oswalts Max, along with the return of Kevin Harts Snowball, Eric Stonestreets Duke, Jenny Slates Gidget, and Lake Bells Chloe. Harrison Ford also joins the star-studded cast as a farm dog named Rooster, with Tiffany Haddish as a Shih Tzu named Daisy. The movie is in theaters now.

Nobody was quite sure what the end of Star Wars: The Last Jedi meant for the future of Mark Hamill and Luke Skywalker, but an announcement from Lucasfilm has just made a few things much clearer. The announcement officially lists the cast of the upcoming film, and among the names listed is Mark Hamill himself. Confirming that the actor, and therefore Luke Skywalker, will appear in Star Wars Episode IX.

There have been many theories about what happened to Luke Skywalker in his final moments in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but it was clear that Luke was dead, having sacrificed himself to help the Resistance escape. Of course, death is never the end for the Jedi, but that detail was hardly conclusive evidence that Hamill would be back. It was also entirely possible that Lucasfilm could have tried to make Luke's return in Star Wars Episode IX a surprise by leaving him off the cast list, but instead, they've made it clear we will see Luke again.

Of course, that doesn't mean that Mark Hamill's role will be a particularly large one. We knew Mark Hamill would appear in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the guy didn't have so much as a speaking role. If Luke Skywalker will be playing the role that Obi-Wan Kenobi played in the latter two episodes of the original trilogy, as a Force Ghost communicating with the living, and that seems to be essentially confirmed now, he may not have more than one scene, though that scene could end up being a vital one.

Obi-Wan Kenobi said that being struck down would actually make him more powerful, though we don't necessarily see that power come through. Rey said she felt "purpose" in Luke's death at the end of The Last Jedi. Perhaps Luke isn't done with either of his two apprentices quite yet. He told Kylo Ren he'd be seeing him, after all.

It's also possible, of course, that we could see Luke appear in flashbacks. Both previous episodes have included flashback moments that included Luke, so it's always possible that could be where we see Mark Hamill again

It's wonderful to know for sure that Mark Hamill isn't quite done with Luke Skywalker yet, though he isn't the returning cast member that's the most surprising, as we also learned that Carrie Fisher will also be in the new film, by using footage from Star Wars: The Force Awakens that went unused.

In addition to Hamill and Fisher, the rest of the core trilogy cast will be back, and the Lucasfilm announcement also confirmed the report that Billy Dee Williams will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian. Two new actors joining them will be Richart E. Grant and newcomer Naomi Ackie. One name missing from the list was Keri Russell who had been previously reported to be in talks for a role. Perhaps those talks fell through, or perhaps they are still ongoing.

Star Wars Episode IX will begin filming August 1 with this announced cast, and is set to hit theaters in December of 2019.
