Captain Marvel Has Wrapped Filming, Here's How Brie Larson Celebrated

With Ant-Man and The Wasp now in theaters, we only have one more solo Marvel Cinematic Universe adventure before it all comes to a head with Avengers 4. That film is Captain Marvel, and it looks like some significant progress has been made towards finishing the movie. Specifically, the film just wrapped production, and Brie Larson posted a picture to celebrate the completion of the filming process and get fans excited about what's coming. Check out the photo, below!

One specific thing worth noting about this particular image posted by Brie Larson is the fact that it looks like Captain Marvel is really going all in on the space elements of the 1990s-set MCU movie. We've known for quite some time that the film would lean into the cosmic aspect of the character's lore (notably the Kree-Skrull War), and this art (while pretty much entirely devoid of plot details) shows us continued emphasis on space and Carol Danvers' interstellar adventures. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become bolder and more brazen in its sci-fi ideas with each passing phase, and it genuinely seems like Captain Marvel could end up as one of the boldest MCU movies yet in that regard.

Not to be outdone by his leading lady, Captain Marvel director Ryan Fleck (who is sharing directing duties with Anna Boden) similarly took to social media to celebrate the completion of the film's principal photography. Check out his post, below!

The arrival of Brie Larson as Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel has become one of the most highly-anticipated elements of the entire Phase 3 slate. The actress was announced as Captain Marvel all the way back in 2016 near the debut of Captain America: Civil War and many have wondered what her take on the comic book badass will ultimately look like. Most of what we have heard about Captain Marvel promises a cocky and cocksure hotshot who enjoys a good fight, so she will likely be a welcome addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe roster when The Avengers regroup and take the fight to Thanos and the Infinity Stones one more time! Needless to say, we couldn't be more excited.

Captain Marvel is set to debut in theaters next year on March 8, 2019! Until then, you can still catch Avengers: Infinity War in some theaters, and Ant-Man and The Wasp recently debuted as well! Why Wakanda Is An Important Location In Avengers: Infinity War

When Thanos finally arrives on Earth, he and his minions will be striking at multiple locations, including Wakanda. As shown in the Avengers: Infinity War teaser trailer, the African nation will be the site of a major battle, with Black Panther, Captain America, other Marvel heroes and Wakanda's finest warriors engaging the monstrous Outriders. Speculation for why Thanos' forces are attacking Wakanda has ranged from the country being where the Soul Stone is located to the Mad Titan simply wanting its supply of vibranium, but it turns out the real reason this location is so important is because that's where our protagonists are keeping The Vision safe. According to co-director Joe Russo:

Vision is a living MacGuffin. Obviously, that raises the stakes because Vision's life is in danger, and his life is in conflict with Thanos' goals, so something's got to give...Cap makes the decision to bring [Vision] here to Wakanda. Earth is making its last stand to keep the stone from Thanos. It's the best place to make your last stand.

After originally being held in Loki's scepter, the Mind Stone was transferred to Ultron's new body during Avengers: Age of Ultron, and once J.A.R.V.I.S. was downloaded into the body and it was powered up by Thor's lightning, that resulted in the creation of the android we know as The Vision. The Mind Stone gives Vision many unique abilities, but it will also make him a target in Avengers: Infinity War, as Thanos will try to collect all six Infinity Stones so that he can gain control of the entire universe. Fortunately, there's Wakanda, which not only boasts advanced technology, but has also never been successfully invaded. Proxima Midnight, a member of the Black Order, and her Outriders will try to change that.

Unfortunately, the combined power of superheroes and Wakandan warriors may not be enough to keep Vision safe. The below moment was included in the Avengers: Infinity War teaser trailer, though it's unclear if this assault takes place before or after the android is moved to Wakanda.

Paul Bettany is listed as appearing in Avengers 4 next year, so whatever happens with Vision in Avengers: Infinity War, it won't be the last we see of him. And whether or not the MCU heroes can keep the Mind Stone out of Thanos' hands, the battle in Wakanda and Infinity War's other events will help bring the Avengers back together after Captain America: Civil War saw the team fracturing. As Joe Russo also noted to EW:

They're fractured at the start of the movie. It was always the intent, in a larger arc, to split the Avengers up before the greatest threat that they've ever seen. Thanos is a virtually indestructible character, which makes him an extremely difficult character to fight. In the face of this, it's like, 'Can you overcome the divisions that have developed between you to face a common cause?' That's really the question.

Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame were filmed in Atlanta and in the United Kingdom. Both films were shot simultaneously for financial and logistical reasons, and to accommodate the availability of the actors. Studio work was done at Pinewood Atlanta Studios and Wardpark Studios in Cumbernauld near Glasgow.

Paul Rudd Has A Valid Concern Over Ant-Man And Thanos Butt Theory For Endgame

After a year of waiting, moviegoers are just weeks away from the release of Avengers: Endgame. The Russo Brothers' upcoming blockbuster will catch up with the surviving heroes in the wake of Infinity War, which saw Thanos wipe out half of all life with the snap of his finger. In addition to ending Phase Three, Endgame will also follow-up on characters that were missing from the last installment: Hawkeye, Captain Marvel, and Ant-Man.

Marvel fans are eager to see Paul Rudd's Scott Lang join the battle against Thanos, and team-up alongside the rest of the Avengers. But there's a viral fan theory floating around that's getting everyone attention. Namely, that Ant-Man will shrink, enter Thanos' anus, and then grow to normal size in order to destroy the big purple villain. It's a theory that the cast seems to enjoy, although Rudd has a valid issue with it all, recently saying:

A lot of people have asked me recently if I shrink down and go into Thanos, in a certain orifice, and then grow giant size. But why not the ear or the nose? Why does it have to be [that]?

The man has a point. While Ant-Man using his shrinking and growing Pym Tech to kill Thanos seems like a viable way to take down the ultra powerful titan, it doesn't necessarily have to be through his big purple butt. He could just as easy jump into Thanos' ears or nose. But that's just not as fun.

Paul Rudd's hilarious response comes from his recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show. While promoting his role in the upcoming release of Avengers: Endgame, Rudd was also asked to address the butt-tastic fan theory involving his character. That's when his A+ response came, and brought a fair point about the other orifices on the Mad Titan's body.

This isn't the first time that the Ant-Man/Thanos' butt theory has been addressed by the cast. Josh Brolin himself posted a bonkers response video from the toilet, so it's clear that both parties have a good sense of humor about it all. Considering the high stakes of Avengers: Endgame, it's probably a nice change of pace to laugh about such a bonkers fan theory.

Once again, Paul Rudd proves himself to be the most charming dude ever. And considering the bleak world being advertised in Avengers: Endgame's marketing campaign, that type of energy is going to be necessary to buoy the long project, and keep things bright while the stakes are at an all-time high.

I also think this is a longshot theory. But I just wanted an alternative to using time travel to undo what happened in the last Avengers movie. This allows Thanos to succeed with the Snap and means that the Avengers are just doing damage control rather than winning by erasing past events.
